  • XIAMEN ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL LAW
    2010 SUMMER PROGRAM
    5 to 23 July, 2010 -- Xiamen, China

    Xiamen Academy of International Law (Xiamen Academy) is an international institution aiming to provide highest level education to individuals who are particularly sensitive to the development and use of international law, such as young lecturers in international law, diplomats, practitioners of law, government officials in charge of foreign affairs, and officials in international organizations. The courses are given in English or French. The Program has been designed to be both practical and highly scholarly. Xiamen Academy has successfully held four summer programs ever since 2006 in Xiamen University. In these summer programs, Xiamen Academy had the honor to have invited many world-renowned professors, ICJ judges and experts to give excellent lectures on various topics of international law.

    Xiamen Academy is pleased to accept applications for 2010 Summer Program.

    Applicants should be:
    (1) law students; or
    (2) teachers, lawyers, or officials, etc. with at least a bachelor degree; and
    (3) fluent in English.

    Registration fee
    For Chinese Mainland applicants:
    (1) University Students: RMB 1,000;
    (2) University Teachers: RMB 2,000; and
    (3) Others: RMB 3,000.
    For Non-Chinese Mainland applicants, including applicants from Hong Kong, Macau and Chinese Taipei: USD 600.
    Registration fee covers test fee and course materials, but does not cover any other expenses including but not limited to accommodation, transport, etc.

    Scholarship
    Xiamen Academy provides limited number of scholarships to qualified applicants on a selective basis.
    A-type scholarship includes:
    (1) Full exemption of the registration fee;
    (2) A certain sum of subsidy for the trip to and from participant’s city to Xiamen:
    a. US$ 400 for Asian participants (excluding Chinese participants),
    b. US$ 600 for non-Asian participants, and
    c. Full reimbursement to round-trip hard-seat train tickets for Chinese participants.
    B-type scholarship includes full exemption of the registration fee.

    Submission of application
    The registration form should be submitted online and printed. The printed registration form and other application materials should be submitted by post.

    Deadline for application for admission is 30 April 2010.
