About Xiamen Academy of International Law 2009

It was a great pleasure for me to take part in Xiamen Academy of International Law 2009. This summer program focused on various topics of international law. The program covered many interesting topics, and also focused on current trends in international law.
Xiamen Academy is annually taking place in a wonderful city of Xiamen. Personally, I have been living in Xiamen for nearly one year. The atmosphere in this city is amazing. It is one of the best places in China. Xiamen University is a famous university in China, and it may also be proud of having a beautiful campus and good location nearby the sea and nice long beaches.
This year each course was given by a great professor, each course was unique. Each course was different as a result of different attitudes and variety of approaches of each professor. Professor Caron, Professor Shearer, Professor Blokker and Judge Bennouna preferred interactive courses where openness of discussions, possibilities for participation and interaction took place. On the other hand, Professor Gray, Professor Mo Shijian and Judge Owada preferred decent way of teaching in a way of giving traditional lectures for highly motivated participants with wide knowledge of international law.
Professor Chao gave us seminars focusing on various topics of international law. As a foreign participant from Europe, I did appreciate his topics with Asian perspective of international law. However, each professor offered the Asian view of international law and current developments within Asia. It gave me a good opportunity to get knowledge from Asian perspective. For sure, it enriched myself and my knowledge in the field of international law.
Xiamen Academy also offered several cultural events. I really enjoyed the Beach Party and the National Ball. During this summer program, I have met many interesting people from all around the world and I would like to stay in touch with them. The selection of participants was excellent. I wish Xiamen Academy to have such great participants in each summer session. I really enjoyed the time during the lectures and the spare time with such great personalities, intelligent and highly motivated participants. It was a great honor for me.

It would be wonderful to come here again to take part in the next session of Xiamen Academy of International Law.
