Prof. S. K. Verma

Professor Surinder Kaur Verma [S.K. Verma] retired as a Professor of law University of Delhi. She was the former Dean & Head, Law Faculty, Delhi University; 

Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi (1998-2004); Director, Indian Society of International law (2009-2012); President of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP, 2001-2003); worked as the Team Leader & Consultant, European Union- India Trade & Investment Development Program (TIDP) – IPR Component (2006-2007).

Prof Verma studied law at the Banaras Hindu University (LL.B. and LL.M.); Law School, Berkeley, University of California (LL.M.); and the Law School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. (S.J.D.). She was a Visiting Fellow/Professor at the Max-Planck-Institute in Intellectual Property, Munich, Germany, and the University of Washington, Seattle.

She specializes in international trade law and intellectual property rights; has nine books and over 150 published articles in international and national journals to her credit. 

She has widely travelled and participated in international conferences/seminars/workshops and delivered lectures at various universities. She has been a member of many committees of the Government of India and has been associated with many educational institutions and NGOs
