Prof. Ernst-Ulrich Petersmann

Prof. Dr. Ernst-Ulrich Petersmann is emeritus professor of international and European law at the European University Institute at Florence, Italy, and former head of its Law Department. He has taught at many universities in Europe, the USA and Asia and practiced international law as legal advisor in the German Ministry of Economic Affairs, GATT and the WTO (1978-2014). He represented Germany in many European and UN institutions, was secretary, member or chairman of several GATT and WTO dispute settlement panels, and chaired the International Trade Law Committee of the International Law Association from 1999 to 2014. His more than 250 publications include 30 monographs and edited books as well as numerous articles on International Law, European Law and comparative public law.
